Marcelle is a gifted architect. Her partner Lars, is one of the most creative and soulful chefs. In 2018, they discovered an old mill tucked into a valley outside Estepona and over the course of a year transformed it into one of the most breathtaking boutique hotels in Spain. It is a space that feels less like a property and more like a living work of art.

Each dish is a celebration of beauty and balance, his plates composed like paintings, adorned with herbs and edible flowers that whisper of his creativity and desire to care for you. His baking is divine, and his imaginative use of Andalusian ingredients is the reason guests return again and again.
If your mornings begin with the scent of fresh coffee, you’ll find your senses awakened before you even open your eyes. Picture warm bread meeting cool butter, a platter of sun-ripened fruit surrounded by assorted cheeses. Madeleines and yogurt? Maybe eggs over easy? Scrambled? Yes, there are dogs and horses to entertain and inspire, but meeting Marcelle is where you’ll really experience love on the loose!
She has that rare gift of making you feel, instantly and sincerely that her home is yours. She’ll greet you with a hug and ask your favorite drink, and it will be in your hand before you check in or notice that your luggage has vanished! She delivers comfort and humor with ease as she slips through the space as an artist of hospitality — blending grace, warmth, and a touch of magic. She and Lars serve meals in the sunshine, beside the pool, or under the terrace on a rainy day, always accompanied by laughter, soft conversation, as you will doubtless join in the chorus of “Oh my God!” and “Yummm!”, the unmistakable sounds of knowing you are loved and nourished through extraordinary food.
In true Spanish tradition, evening meals are light — a joyful array of tapas with something red or sparkling to sip, and always, a little sweetness to end another day in paradise before welcoming the dreamtime.
